Years ago Ricardo Liborio, respectively the World’s most technical Black Belt, along with partners left Carlson Gracie Team to start Brazilian Top Team in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.  Under the Brazilian Top Team, Liborio trained the likes of Murillo Bustamente(former Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC, middleweight Champion), Vitor Belfort (Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion) as well as many other notable sports BJJ and Mixed Martial Arts Competitors.  Master Liborio, while cornering Murillo at one of his UFC Fights united with long time friends Marcelo Silveira and Conan Silveira and discussed setting up American Top Team and Liborio moved to the U.S. in order to manifest his teachings and training methods with the the Silveira Brothers Jiu-Jitsu Team, now known as American Top Team.  Since then, ATT has opened numerous training facilities in Florida, Missouri, Massachusetts, Washington and plans further expansion in numerous other states.  The main headquarters is a 20,000 sq foot facility in Coconut Creek Facility where most of the Professional fighters train on a daily basis and the rest train when they are getting ready for their fights.  For more information on this academy, visit www.AmericanTopTeam.com. 

ATT Fort Lauderdale was created because of the popularity of the sport.  Fort Lauderdale is such a large area that many people that want to train, cannot travel the distance to the closest academies at rush Hour.  ATT FTL is located in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale and is very convienant for many of our students and future students.  Rafael Diaz is currently ATT main Academies main instructor under Master Liborio and is a professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighter so he has the experience to teach on all levels from Children to professionals.  When Rafael is not fighting, you will often see him coaching and cornering his teammates in their professional fights.  Rafael will continue to fight and that will allow us the chance to meet some of his professional training partners in our school and train with them as well.  When Rafael is in training, we will have other coaches in the school teaching as well as Rafael, so we will always have the highest level of coaching for our students.
